Our blogger interviews start with a professional blogger, Internet Marketing Consultant, writer, coach, trainer and web geek - CHRIS GARRETT. You might know him from sites like ASPToday, ASPAlliance, Threadwatch, Performancing, ProBlogger, Authority Blogger and CopyBlogger. Without further ado…
Q. How does it feel to be recognized as a professional blogging consultant?
A. It feels great but you have to remember that outside of a small community nobody cares
Q. What is it that Continuously motivates you to be a Blogging expert?
A. You have to follow your passions. I started out in IT, then I was a programmer, then into marketing, now blogs. While I get a buzz I will continue to do what I do.
Q. How much do you think Blog Buzz is important for a Product to be successful?
A. It can be very important or not at all. Huge companies continue to be successful without blogs, some smaller product launches would never succeed without blog buzz.
Q. What factors make a Blog Buzz successful?
A. Remarkability. Is it worth talking about and are the right people talking about it.
Q. What products/ brands do you think have used blogs successfully?
A. Unfortunately right now I think it is the “Web2.0″ crowd who most get it. I would love to see more outside of tech doing blog marketing sell. Book authors definitely get blogs now, but perhaps that is because it is another writing venue.
Q. Do you think Blog Buzz played an important role in popularity of Iphone?
A. Maybe but I think that was always going to be a story picked up by the fanboys, so if we were in a parallel universe we would have been talking about forum buzz being behind iPhone success
Q. How do companies monitor Blog buzz created by their products?
A. The companies that do monitor blogs do it the same way the rest of us do, reading feeds, aggregators and monitoring technorati and google. Most don’t.
Q. Do you see differences in the way blog marketing works in the developed markets and the developing markets (like India, China)?
A. From what I can see countries like India and China are accelerating and being far more aggressively enthusiastic than I see even in my home country of UK. There seems to be a certain amount of complacency here whereas I talk to people all over the world who are far more energetic and switched on. The shame is some countries such as China will have political hurdles to overcome, but left to the people I think blogs, and the internet as a whole can be huge for those markets.
Q. Anything you’d like to add?
A. Just to always keep in mind that blog marketing and buzz is all about what you give, not what you can take. Always create value first, flagship content, conversation and community, before seeing what you can profit from it

The internet marketers charges are very affordable these days, considering the fact that almost everyone is taking up on internet marketing. Even the laymen know what an affiliate program is. This has eventually resulted in numerous cheap web hosting services coming up. That does leave one with limited choices for dedicated hosting though. For domain registration , make sure your web host offers features like online backup, or else it is of no use.

Good interview. I’m a fan of Chris and its great to see him answering the questions. I wrote about “how blogs can increase a product’s popularity by two fold” yesterday. Good luck for this blog too as it seems new. And its a great start for this blog by interviewing a famous blogger like Chris.

I like the parting words it shows the essence of a true blogger. We don’t blogged just for our own benefits but how our words help and motivate others.
